If you are an elder sibling you can relate to what I feel for my 9 years younger brother. I have always been very protective even if it’s about him getting a small scratch. Amongst both of us, he's always been more responsible and organized.
And talking about siblings getting each other scolded.. It’s just the opposite in our case, even as a toddler he gave the toughest looks to someone who scolded me and it’s been the same.
Although we are very different from each other, our food taste is quite similar. It’s very likely of him to enjoy a dish that I loved. Though coming from a pure vegetarian Brahmin family we share a very special bond over nonvegetarian food. I made him eat his first butter chicken dish when he was a kid and he relished it completely. Since then we have been partners in sneaking out and exploring amazing nonvegetarian food. He had once come to Delhi to spend a few days with me post his high school board exams and I remember we went crazy. We visited The Big Chill cafe three times in a row as we loved the salmon fish there.
He was just in the second grade when I had to leave home to study in some other city so we miss spending more time together. But I make sure that I come home on all festivals and especially every Raksha Bandhan to tie him a rakhi. When he was a little one he once asked me “Will you come home on festivals even after you get married?”. So I am always going to make sure to be with him on every Rakshabandhan no matter what.
